Reflection task 1:

The interview was necessary to tell me why the assess students it’s important. That because to know the levels of students and how I can help them and what they need to improve in literacy. Through the interview, I did with my (MST) Patrick Kelly. I know a lot of information about the diagnostic assessment. He told me about the time of this assessment he did it two times, first one the beginning of the year, that because to identify the level of a student and the second is used at the end of the year to check their progress. In addition that assessment did by the classroom teacher. Also, he used two types of assessment written and oral and he put it all papers of assessment in a big file to keep it as the evidence.

 

In the future, I can implement diagnostic assessment in a UAE primary classroom by do some strategies help me to do it. For example, I will make different types of assessment such as a written assessment that because to assess a student in writing skill and verbal assessment to assess a student in speaking skill. In addition, I should do the assessment in first of the year to know the level of a student. Based on the level of students I can put her/his in which group he/she need a master, emergent or development. The practice it helpfully for students to know if they improve in literacy reading, listing and speaking. When the teacher makes the assessment for students that will effect on students learning. To illustrate, through the assessment students will get an opportunity to improve her/his skills in literacy.
